Texas Educator Excellence Grant (TEEG)
TEEG is an incentive pay program created by the 79th Texas legislature, to reward staff at the state’s most economically disadvantaged campuses that demonstrate the highest levels of student achievement or improvement. Northside ISD has participated in the past 3 TEEG Cycles, and will complete the final cycle in the 2008-2009 school year. There are 7 campuses participating for the 2008-2009 school year, including Adams Hill Elementary, Cable Elementary, Linton Elementary, Passmore Elementary, Powell Elementary, Neff Middle School and Holmes High School.
In determining which teachers receive awards, campuses must create an incentive program plan that relies on objective and quantifiable measures. Each campus established a campus wide planning committee to develop the campus’ incentive plan, which had to pass a campus wide staff vote for approval.
This is the final TEEG Cycle the Texas legislature has funded, but there are other state funded teacher incentive pay programs at NISD, including the District Awards for Teacher Excellence (D.A.T.E.) program that will continue through the 2009-2010 school year. Awards for this final year of the TEEG grant will be paid in the fall of 2010.
Below is a link to view the campus TEEG plans for all 7 participating NISD campuses, along with an estimate of the total campus award.
